Dear NAIOP Oregon Members, Partners, and Colleagues,

As I step into the role of President for NAIOP Oregon, I want to begin by acknowledging the incredible foundation we have thanks to this year’s leadership. My sincere appreciation goes to Travis, our Executive Committee, Board of Directors, committee leaders, and our dedicated members. Your commitment, passion, and hard work have positioned us for an exciting year ahead.

Over the past year, we’ve seen tremendous progress across our core priorities:

Advocacy Expansion

NAIOP Oregon continues to strengthen its role as the most active and influential voice for commercial real estate in our region. The Greater Alliance Partnership has amplified our collective impact, and our growing Public Affairs engagement is helping shape meaningful conversations around permit reform, economic revitalization, and sustainable growth.

Educational Outreach

We’ve expanded our partnerships with undergraduate and graduate programs, inspiring the next generation of commercial real estate professionals. By tapping into the talent within our membership and among our sponsors, we continue to foster mentorship, connection, and visibility throughout our industry.

Women’s Network

Our Women’s Network remains a powerful force in advancing inclusion and leadership pathways for women in commercial real estate. We will continue supporting its growth and elevating the voices of women shaping our industry’s future.

Developing Leaders (DL) Committee

Our Developing Leaders Committee has been a driving force in cultivating the next generation of commercial real estate professionals. Their energy, creativity, and commitment to building community have strengthened NAIOP Oregon in meaningful ways. In 2026, we will continue to empower their work—providing emerging leaders with mentorship, industry exposure, and opportunities to engage, contribute, and grow. Their leadership pipeline is essential to shaping the future of our organization and our industry.

Looking Ahead to 2026

As we move into the new year, I am excited to continue this momentum and focus on key priorities:

Member & Sponsor Engagement

I hope to make 2026 a year of deep engagement—where every member finds their connection point within NAIOP. By encouraging broader participation in committees, we will strengthen relationships, spark creativity, and welcome new perspectives. I will be challenging our committee chairs to grow involvement and collaboration within their groups, because engagement is what fuels our impact.

Strategic Planning & Direction

With the launch of our Strategy & Innovation Committee, we will be aligning our work more intentionally with NAIOP Oregon’s long-term goals. This effort is about becoming a more focused, cohesive Board—one that is united, strategic, and forward-thinking in how we serve our members and our community.

Events & Culture

NAIOP Oregon thrives on connection, and our events play a vital role in bringing our membership together. In 2026 we will continue offering engaging, well-organized, and energizing events that celebrate our community and elevate the NAIOP spirit. When we are connected and having fun, we are more creative, more collaborative, and ultimately more impactful.

Closing Thought

Most importantly, my goal is to ensure that NAIOP Oregon continues to be the premier voice for commercial real estate in our region—an organization that advocates effectively, educates meaningfully, and connects our industry to shape a vibrant and sustainable future.

I am truly honored to serve as your President, and I look forward to working alongside all of you to make 2026 a year of energy, engagement, and collective success.

With gratitude and excitement,

Michelle Schulz
