Types of NAIOP Memberships

Full Member:

Any individual employed by a company or organization whose primary business is the development, ownership, management of, or investment in industrial, office or related commercial real estate.

Affiliate Member:

The second or subsequent person from the principal firm, within the same chapter.

Public Official Member:

Any individual employed by a local, state or federal government or nonprofit organization.

University Member:

University membership is available to colleges and universities offering undergraduate and/or graduate programs in real estate. The college/university maintaining a University membership must designate a current employee (not a student) affiliated with the institution to serve as the point of contact for the membership.

Full-time students enrolled and pursuing a real estate degree in a college or university holding a NAIOP membership in this category will receive select NAIOP benefits.

University Membership fees are based on the number of students in your program.

Student Member:

You are eligible for Student membership if you are a full-time student who is not otherwise employed in the commercial real estate industry. Student members are eligible for reduced membership rates.

Note: Following graduation, a student will no longer be able to renew membership through the student membership program, but will retain the membership through their expiration date. If, after graduation, you are qualified to continue membership in another membership category, you will be contacted by NAIOP staff and instructed accordingly. This category does not renew automatically. You will be asked to provide documentation every year.

Developing Leaders Membership:

Individuals 35 years old and under. NAIOP's DL program boasts special discounts on membership rates, registration fees for select conferences and on additional events, as determined by the local chapters.
